Syrian-American comedian Nasser Al-Rayess, popularly known as @naw_sir and fan branded as “the Shawarma King,” has rapidly risen as a dynamic force in the comedy world. Through his sharp wit and exploration of his Arab-American identity, Nasser offers a refreshing take on pop culture and current events. His keen observational humor, especially around identity and popular Arab music, has garnered him nearly a million followers across Instagram and TikTok.

Nasser’s impact reaches far beyond the digital realm. His interactive comedy show has toured internationally, gracing stages in Dubai, New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and more. Nasser just finished his summer tour and has performed in over 25 cities, including the historic Irvine and San Jose Improv. The show showcases Nasser’s innovative comedy style, blending humor, Arabic music, and the warm ambiance of a traditional Arab gathering, leaving audiences of all backgrounds entertained and embraced. Nasser is currently planning his Fall tour, performing his set, “Arab Enough”.

In addition to his live performances, Nasser's song "Be My Shawarma" has over 7 million views on social media. He has been interviewed by major media outlets such as The New Arab and Al Jazeera, discussing how he uses comedy to speak up for Palestine. His appearances on the Kris Fade Show, Loving Dubai, and Al Mashhad have further cemented his presence in the entertainment world.

Nasser’s influence extends to notable collaborations with Mona Kattan and the cast of Dubai Bling, leading to fruitful partnerships. He has also launched “Shawarma University” merchandise, including crewnecks, as a homage to his love for shawarma.

Aspiring to revolutionize Arab-American comedy, Nasser is pushing Arab culture into the mainstream. His journey of unapologetic self-acceptance continues to captivate audiences, as he leads the way in representing and celebrating Arab-American voices in comedy.
